Horween's Chromexcel leather, from an established American tannery, is characterized by its traditional combination tanning method using chrome and tannins, infused with plenty of oil, making it supple and quick to break in. Although prone to minor scratches, these quickly disappear with a leather brush or application of oil. Another appealing feature is that as it's worn, the brown core underneath becomes visible because it's only dyed on the surface, a technique known as "hill dyeing." The size is free-size and made long. It's styled to be worn with the belt tip hanging loosely. Both the parts and studs are made of brass, which also develop a rich character with use.
