This is a jacket ordered by a US soldier stationed in Vietnam in the late 1960s (1968-69) and brought back to the US.
While map patterns were common for Vietnam jackets, this dragon embroidery is extremely rare. Although some vintage dragon patterns have been confirmed, such colorful and powerful embroidery is unique.
The dragons on both the back and sleeves are depicted using multi-colored threads, indicating that highly skilled craftsmen were involved in their creation even back then.
The character "福" (Fuku) on the left chest is slightly smaller than usual, but it is reproduced in a vintage-appropriate balance using two colors of thread.

Similar to sukajan, which was born in post-war Japan, souvenir jackets created during the Vietnam War from the 1960s to 1970s are commonly known as "Vietnam jackets."
They mainly use two types of fabric: cotton twill or camouflage-patterned poncho liners, and the designs are embroidered with matte, thick colored threads.
