This jacket was ordered by a US soldier stationed in Vietnam in the late 1960s (1968-69) and brought back to the United States.
Among Vietnam jackets, which are predominantly map-patterned, this dragon embroidery is extremely rare. While several dragon-patterned vintage pieces have been confirmed,
no other embroidery is as colorful and powerful as this one.
Both the dragon on the back and the dragons on the sleeves are depicted using a variety of colored threads, suggesting that highly skilled artisans were involved in their creation at the time.
The character "福" (fuku) on the left chest is slightly smaller than usual, but it has been reproduced with two colors of thread to achieve a balance consistent with vintage pieces.

Similar to the Sukajan which originated in post-war Japan, the souvenir jacket that emerged during the Vietnam War from the 1960s to 1970s is commonly known as the Vietnam Jacket.
It is mainly made from two types of fabric: cotton twill or camouflage poncho liner, and the designs are embroidered with thick, matte-colored threads.
