 The jacket is made from a thick cotton fabric called pineapple tweed. Its name comes from the material of the bags used on Hawaiian farms when harvesting pineapples. Since railroad technology came from mainland America, it's interesting that Hawaiian rail-roaders wore workwear similar to mainland American rail-roaders, unlike what the plantation workers wore. After Japanese immigrants arrived in Hawaii, the first place they found employment was on the sugarcane plantations. Railways had been laid there since ancient times, used as a means of transporting harvested sugarcane to sugar refineries, and also as a means of transportation connecting their residential areas and the plantations. Sun Surf, while unraveling the history of Hawaiian workwear, focused on "Hilo Railroad Company," a railway company that existed in the past. Based on historical documents, they recreated its unique specifications. Weight: 950g  Sun Surf is Toyo Enterprise's specialty brand for aloha shirts. All Sun Surf aloha shirts are replicas of vintage designs that once existed, reproduced to precisely match their original texture. This product creation is only possible with an enormous in-house collection and know-how that cannot be imitated elsewhere.
