Made using 1.3mm thick deerskin from Fujioka Yukichi Honten, a long-established deerskin tannery. The back and sleeves are made from a single piece of deerskin. The leather is cut with careful attention to the direction of the grain, making it very difficult to cut out pieces from small, often scarred deerskin. For the back, the leather is cut so that the deer's spine runs down the center, allowing for a natural, wrapped-in-deerskin feel. Despite being a tight Western-silhouette shirt, it's a piece where you can fully enjoy the soft and supple charm of deerskin. 【Raw finish to maximize the expression of the leather】 To maximize the appeal of deerskin, including its softness and unique shibori texture, we insist on a "raw finish." Tanning and finishing are carried out consistently at the long-established Japanese tannery, "Fujioka Yukichi Honten," to produce The Flat Head's original deerskin. The leather quality is supple and soft, with a rich expression such as the shibori texture. Additionally, it strongly retains the wild, natural expression of the leather, so scars from its previous life may be visible. Care is taken to ensure there are no issues with strength or other qualities, so it will not lead to tears or holes. 【Western details】 This leather shirt incorporates Western details throughout, such as the shoulder sections, the back yoke, chest pocket flaps, and a shapely waistline. Even when worn in a snug size, the soft comfort of deerskin prevents it from feeling heavy or stiff, allowing you to fully enjoy the soft and light feel of deerskin. 【Meticulously crafted details】 Details that combine design and practicality are incorporated throughout. The stitching at the armholes is designed to appear as double stitching. The stitching, with thread spacing as if sewn with a two-needle machine, is actually sewn in two stages with a single needle machine. If the thread pitch or stitch spacing changes, it detracts from the appearance, making this a very difficult process even for skilled artisans. The high-friction neck area is reinforced with Ultrasuede. In addition to the purpose of reinforcing the leather, this area is also prone to dirt and oil stains, so it is easy to maintain. Ultrasuede is used. This combines reinforcement with ease of daily maintenance. 【Sleeves made from a single piece of leather】 Both sleeves, like the back, are each made from a single piece of leather. It is a very delicate task to cut large single pieces from deerskin, which is often small and has many scars from its previous life. Also, since there are significant individual differences in texture, the leather is carefully selected to ensure that the left and right sides and the body do not have widely varying textures when creating a single garment. This is a point where you can feel the meticulous care of each craftsman, from cutting to finishing. 【Rayon Kersey】 Rayon kersey is used for the lining. Rayon kersey, woven from rayon fibers in a twill weave, is a material that offers the strength and smooth feel suitable for a lining. The unique luster and vibrant coloring of rayon enhance the appeal of the leather jacket. Additionally, there is an inner pocket on the left front body, with enough capacity to store a large smartphone, making it convenient for carrying personal items.
