■Buzz Rickson's Lot No. BR80662 / Type B-2 WERBER LEATHER COAT CO., INC.
![]() Model Height: 175cm, Weight: 62kg, Wearing size 38 The B-2 was developed by the Army Air Force as an extreme-cold-weather flight jacket to protect pilots from the cold. It was adopted between 1932 and 1934. Before its adoption, coveralls were used, which often led to sizing issues. In developing the B-2, the style was changed to consist of a separate jacket and trousers. This also significantly improved productivity by reducing the weight during the manufacturing process. The leather used for the outer shell is horsehide, and there are two types of lining depending on the contractor: pile and blanket. The predecessor B-1 model had a sheepskin lining, but the B-2's lining was changed to fabric. There are also two ways to fasten the collar: a belt buckle type and a button closure type. Additionally, at the waist, a remnant from the coverall era, there is a belt buckle on the front for adjusting the waist circumference. On the back of the collar, a metal hook is hand-sewn for hanging the collar with a rubber band from above the head. Since the B-2 was adopted before World War II, not many were produced, and due to its age, the probability of encountering an original from that time is extremely low; if found, such a piece would be museum-grade. <Bronco Hide Wax Hand Finished> Horsehide tanned with vegetable tannins is hand-rubbed with wax by artisans. Although this creates color unevenness, it develops an exceptional texture with wear. Weight: 2880g ![]() Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. Toyo Enterprise has a long history with military wear, tracing its roots to its predecessor, Kosho Co., Ltd., which supplied products such as souvenir jackets (like Sukajan) to U.S. military bases. In 1993, the company released its first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear items it reproduces have been flawlessly executed, much like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear. ![]() ![]()
