The M-65 has reigned as the ultimate field jacket.
Its roots trace back to the M-41 field jacket after World War II,
and through trial and error, improvements were made over time,
culminating in its completed form during the Vietnam War.
This highly refined M-65 field jacket continues to greatly influence modern civilian apparel,
but even at the time, it was a groundbreaking jacket that gained immense popularity among soldiers.
At that time, in Vietnam, American soldiers could have custom-made clothes tailored for a very low price.
So, soldiers brought their issued jackets to tailors around the base and asked them to "make a jacket of the same type" using available materials.
Thus, jackets with tiger patterns and other designs, different from issued items, were born.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprises, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with the military is long-standing, dating back to the Port Trading Company era, the predecessor of Toyo Enterprises, when they supplied souvenir jackets (such as Sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they reproduce, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
